If you are a mobile worker, or an IT professional who supports mobile workers, there are two new terms to learn this year. Acer has joined the effort to promote the new WiMAX network. Sprint is promoting a portable, battery-powered hotspot that is also a wireless router that can connect up to five nearby computers.
Early Windows 7 Testers Say They Are Impressed (May 13, 2009)
Windows users fall into three categories. They upgraded to Vista when it first came out and accepted the consequences; they kept older XP machines alive as long as possible; or they believed the "Hi, I'm a Mac; Hi, I'm a PC" commercials and bought new PCs but immediately installed the XP "downgrade" that came with them. All three will want to at least take a look at Windows 7 — or "Vista done right," as some have already dubbed it — when it is released later this year. We have not seen it yet but here is a summary of what others have said.
